Sunset Beach, NC and Beyond: South Carolina Showing Assist ~ Yay or Nay

South Carolina Showing Assist ~ Yay or Nay

South Carolina Showing Assist ~ Yay or Nay

Technology has updated the Real Estate market with many ways to arrange showings. Convenient, easy, less time consuming ways are available when used properly.

Technology is trying to get away calling the listing office and/or the listing agent and utilizing methods like centralized showing or online scheduling.

Showing Assist allows agents to go online and arrange their showings supposedly with a few simple clicks.

There is a cute little icon on all the South Carolina MLS listings you click on which enables you to arrange your showings online.

The problem is not all agents comply with the showing assist advantages.

Many agents use private lockboxes which are so antiquated (really?)

Many agents still want you to call them or call the listing office (seriously?)

Some agents want to meet you at the house (What?? Are you kidding me??)

To top it off there are agents who ask to be called and then tell you the key is under the front door mat (Ridiculous!!)

Why did the South Carolina MLS even bother setting up the Showing Assist if agents continue to use old methods of showing homes??

What do we think of the Showing Assist in the South Carolina (CCAR (Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors) MLS?

WE SAY NAY (Until Realtors Comply)

We have somethng similar on the Houston Association of Realtors MLS. I still use CSS, but as a Buyer's agent, it doesn't matter to me what they use or if they do not use either one as long as they confirm the appointment -- and I get to show. :)

Joni ~ We as buyer agents agree but do like the added convenience of showing assist and the ability of making appointments easily.

Sounds like your MLS needs to require agents use the electronic lockboxes, unless a seller opts out.

My guess is most are being cheap and not wanting to pay more for fobs or electronic keys.

Than ~ It's unfortunate that agents aren't using the electronic lockboxes on all listings in South Carolina in Horry County. Life would be so much easier...
